What RV is best for Full-Time?

Updated: Sep 8, 2023

RVs come in various types and configurations to cater to diverse travel preferences and needs. After careful consideration, we concluded that a Class A Motorhome was the ideal choice for us due to several reasons:

Avoiding travel in a truck: We preferred a self-contained and spacious travel option, especially with kids, a cat, and a dog.

  1. Convenience on the road: With a Class A Motorhome, we didn't have to make frequent stops for bathroom breaks, and we could prepare meals while traveling, saving time and ensuring a more efficient journey.

  2. Work-friendly environment: The Class A Motorhome provided a designated workspace, allowing me to work comfortably while on the move.

  3. Ample living space: Unlike smaller options, the Class A Motorhome provided generous living space, including a bedroom, bunkhouse for the kids, kitchen, and bathroom.

  4. Cost considerations: Choosing a Class A Motorhome was more cost-effective than purchasing both a truck and a Toy Hauler. Opting for a gas rig aligned with our budget.

It's important to be aware of the various types of RVs available:

- Class A Motorhome: The largest and most luxurious resembling a bus or motor coach, with ample living space and amenities.

- Class B Motorhome: Compact camper vans built on a van chassis, providing basic amenities in a smaller space.

- Class C Motorhome: Built on a truck chassis with an overhang above the driver's cabin, offering more living space and additional amenities.

- Travel Trailer: Towed behind a vehicle, available in various sizes and layouts, ranging from compact to larger models with separate rooms.

- Fifth Wheel Trailer: Requires a pickup truck with a special hitch, providing additional living space.

- Toy Hauler: Trailers designed to carry recreational vehicles while offering living space.

- Pop-up Camper: Lightweight trailers that expand to provide additional living space when set up.

- Truck Camper: Designed to fit in the bed of a pickup truck, offering sleeping quarters, a small kitchen, and a detachable option.

- Hybrid Trailer: Combining features of travel trailers and pop-up campers, featuring expandable canvas sections for extra space.

- Airstream Trailer: Known for its sleek aluminum design, it offers various floor plans with comfortable living areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms.

These options cater to different preferences, sizes, and budgets, ensuring there is an RV suitable for everyone's needs. Get out there and explore to find your wheelestate. Do not look for all your "wants" like a house, there will always be something that you will not like from one camper to another.
